When we start being complacent, what we need is………………
Of summer breeze in June,
And December winter snow,
Of April spring getting into bloom,
And September fall in dimming autumn glow.
When the wind wonders in from the east,
The sudden blizzard blows from the west,
When all you want is to keep things at ease,
Some things will bound to put your cause to the test.
Monsoon rain and equatorial heat,
Un-quenching draught in a vast ice-land,
When things start to get comfortable and neat,
Reality makes a sudden twist to your hair and pulls you by the hand.
The dessert Sahara and the river Nile,
Versus the Amazon in all its lush glory,
Makes you wonder if this is all worthwhile,
Or will it just be another chapter in the book of your life’s history.
Take a step into the wild, be it the savannah or ocean,
Make a trip into the plains, whether the tundra or the prairie,
Let your mind wonder, keep your heart open,
Exercise your senses to touch, feel and see.
From a calm and gentle wisp,
Who could ever suspect a hurricane billowing?
Racing pulse from steady heartbeats,
Sudden flashes of memory get silly smiles bursting.
The sun and the moon and the stars in the sky,
The planets, universe and galaxies beyond,
For every situation in life we would wonder what, how and why,
To keep on wondering or stop wondering, the life around you will still go on.
Deep and wide is the big blue sea,
Separating us from earth’s mantel core,
To move with the tide might prove to be exciting,
To remain the same will prevent the chances of sores.
The dilemma of change will never stop,
The knowledge of hope helps get our journey on the move,
The growth of maturity in life happens whenever we flop,
The only thing to do now is to fold back the convertible’s roof.
